A few years ago I spent some time living in the St. Louis area, during which time I always kept my eyes peeled for derelict BMWs needing saving, as I tend to do as shown here; so it was no surprise that one day leaving the grocery store in University City, I spotted this white 740iL leaving the parking lot. My ambition got the best of me, and I followed the car a few short blocks away and exchanged information with him, giving him my card and the classic “if you ever wanna sell it, call me”. A few pictures upon first sight:

Well, fast forward to July, and I got a phone call. We discussed numbers and I made a beeline to go and pick the car up and bring it back to base for further review and fixes.

The first step was to give it a thorough wash and go over the interior — which was in amazing condition (only 100k miles!), but the outside needed a bit of love, namely the rear panel beneath the tail lights.

I decided to throw my new 17s on the car and drive it around, and had interest in the car almost immediately from a frined.

We came to an agreement of its value contingent upon me fixing the dent in te back & continuing to clean it, so I got to work.

It sold within about a month of ownership, so I didn’t get to take too many “after” pictures of it — but I still see it rolling around town while the new owner thoroughly enjoys it. Onto the next!

Best,
